The renowned Ugandan rally driver Emmanuel Katto organized the Emka Rally, which made its debut in 1984 and swiftly became one of the most prominent and eagerly awaited events in the country's motorsport calendar. Pioneering the field of rally driving, Mr. Katto saw the Rally as a means of promoting a sense of brotherhood and sportsmanship among the motor racing community in addition to showcasing Uganda's great driving talent.
