With a population of over 33.6 million, the landlocked nation has a total area of about 242,034 square kilometers. Aside from its favorable climate, fertile land, oil reserves, and minor mineral deposits including copper, cobalt, limestone, and gold, Uganda is endowed with a wealth of natural resources.
