FURIA Esports and Imperial Esports represent Brazil in the Roobet Cup 2022, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) tournament. The competition will take place in Europe, online, between the 22nd and 30th of June. In all, 16 teams are vying for the title and for the largest share of the total prize pool of US$ 250,000 (about R$ 1.2 million). The games will be broadcast live on the official channel of Alexandre “Gaules” Borba on Twitch, and also on the Roobet Esports channels on the same platform and on YouTube. The organizer’s option was to only make 16 invitations for each of the teams. In addition to FURIA and Imperial, the competition will feature IEM Champion Dallas 2022 Cloud9, reigning World Champion FaZe Clan, 9z Team, Astralis, BIG, Complexity Gaming, ENCE, Entropiq, Eternal Fire, forZe, MOUZ, Movistar Riders, OG, and Outsiders.
Imperial will try to recover in the Roobet Cup after two bad campaigns in a row. One was at IEM Dallas 2022, where the Brazilians were eliminated without a single victory, and the last one at Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022, eliminated in the group stage. FURIA, on the other hand, tries to take advantage of the good moment after the campaigns at PGL Major Antwerp 2022 and IEM Dallas 2022 to try to lift its first cup of the year.
