Using Erasa Reverse Face Search to Find Reused or Stolen Photos

I recently went down a bit of a rabbit hole looking into reverse face search tools, mostly out of curiosity — and partly out of concern about how easily images get reused online.

Like a lot of people, I’ve uploaded photos to social platforms, dating apps, and a few public profiles over the years. At some point, I started wondering: If someone copies one of my photos, how would I even know?

Traditional reverse image search works okay for exact matches, but it usually misses cropped images, screenshots, or photos reused under different usernames. That’s when I started looking into tools based on facial recognition instead of simple image matching.

I tried a tool that offers a reverse face search, where you upload a photo and it scans across public sources to find visually similar faces rather than identical files.

What stood out to me:

It doesn’t rely on usernames or links — just the face itself

It can surface results even when the photo has been resized or edited

Useful for checking impersonation, catfishing, or image reuse across platforms

No login or account connection required, which felt safer privacy-wise

I’m not saying these tools are perfect — facial recognition always comes with accuracy and ethical considerations — but as a visibility check, it was eye-opening to see how far a single image can travel once it’s online.

Curious if others here have tested similar tools, or how you personally keep track of where your photos end up once they’re public.
