Considering SFP-25G-SR-S - What should I check before buying?

I’m preparing to order a few SFP-25G-SR-S modules for short range 25G links inside our data center, and before I hit purchase I want to make sure I’m not overlooking anything. We are moving toward more 25G infrastructure but still have a mix of existing multimode fiber runs from older 10G installs, so SR optics make the most sense for distance and cost right now.

On paper, SFP-25G-SR-S looks straightforward: short reach, multimode friendly, and compatible with standard 25G ports. My main concerns going in are fiber quality expectations, patch panel cleanliness, and whether certain switch platforms are pickier than others when it comes to 25G SR optics. 25G can be less forgiving than 10G, so I want to get it right the first time.

If you’ve bought or deployed SFP-25G-SR-S recently, what did you double check before ordering? Did you notice any specific compatibility quirks, MPO polarity gotchas, or installation tips that would save me time and headaches? And overall, do you feel confident using these as a long term option for short 25G links? Thanks!
