FUTSAL CUP KORAT (September 5, 2022) – At Terminal 21 in Korat, Thailand, Hongyen Thakam from Thailand put on a focused performance to defeat Bintang Timur Surabaya (BTS) from Indonesia 5-2 and take control of Group A of the AFF Futsal Cup 2022.
FUTSAL CUP With both clubs locked the day before on the same points and goal differential, Hongyen’s victory in the crucial game today guaranteed that going into tomorrow’s encounter against Down Town Sport from Cambodia, they would almost certainly win the group.
The highly anticipated encounter between the runner-up in the Futsal Thai League 2021, Hongyu, and the Indonesian champions BTS just missed the mark when it came to capturing the atmosphere and the players’ intense emotions.
New Betting Sites 2022 As they accrued fouls and engaged in end-to-end play, none of the teams was showing any signs of mercy.
Therdsak Charoenphong toe-poked a playback from Keattisak Songkhrao into the goal in the 11th minute as the game appeared to be heading for a draw.
Two minutes after Edison Coelho’s attempt for BTS hit the underside of the crossbar, Hongyen increased their lead with a goal from Wendel Mendes after a free-kick clearance attempt went awry.
Just two minutes into the second half, BTS gave themselves a chance to recover as Mochammad Iqbal Rahmatullah Iskandar capitalized on Sunny Rizky Suhendra’s diligent work.
At the halfway point, Charoen Seana’s single effort paid off as he scored from a tight angle to restore Hongyen’s two-goal lead. However, Hongyen was not ready to let it slip.
In an effort to reduce the gap while under pressure, BTS implemented the power play.
But sadly, Hongyen were simply too experienced, as they did nothing but watch as Pokawin Anantasaksothon and Katawut Phoopan scored two more goals in the exact same 39th minute of action.
Andri Kustiawan scored the game’s final goal for BTS, who will now play Perwira FC from Brunei DS tomorrow. Hongyen Thakam will face DownTown Sport.
Down Town Sport, meanwhile, defeated Perwira FC from Brunei DS 8-4 to move up to the third position in Group A going into tomorrow’s final matchday of the group.
