Best Betting sites in the World AFF Futsal Cup 2022 Final: Bintang Timur Surabaya (BTS) FC of Indonesia defeated Hongyen Thakam FC of Thailand 4-2 this evening at Terminal 21 in Korat, establishing themselves as the new ASEAN club futsal heroes.

Bintang Timur Surabaya The team from the eastern portion of Java was highly motivated to dethrone the Thais after BTS lost to the same Hongyen side earlier in the group stage.

“It is fantastic to win this competition for Indonesia for the first time, particularly since we also won the Indonesian league title. We were confident thanks to our early goals. We are champions, therefore we should be pleased to have prevailed in a challenging match, stated BTS head coach Hector Souto.

For the record, Thai teams had previously won all six of the competitions, thanks to Port FC in 2015, 2016, and 2017, Bangkok BTS in 2018, and then Chonburi Bluewave (2019 and 2021).

The lanky Edison Machado Coelho was the key motivator this time around for BTS, who had just defeated defending champion Black Steel Manokwari in a dramatic manner to win the Indonesian League title.

Early in the game, Hongyen’s Wendel Mendes and captain Katawut Phoopan both came close to scoring, but it was BTS who took the lead when Samuel Eko Tampubolon twisted his defender before blasting the ball past goalkeeper Jaroenpong Prasansat in the 11th minute.

Four minutes later, Coelho increased BTS’s lead by holding off two players and slipping the ball past Jaroenpong.

Ampol Sriragaew’s free kick in the 18th minute allowed Hongyen to get one back as they began to exert more pressure.

Keattisak Songkhrao scored the equalizer for Hongyen two minutes into the second half, raising its supporters to their feet.

However, BTS did not waver. At the halfway point, Andri Kustiawan capitalized on a loose ball to put them back in front. Six minutes later, Coelho maintained composure to send the ball in the back of Hongyen’s net to make the score 4-2.

A red card on Hongyen’s Katawut and then two yellow cards for BTS, including one for head coach Souto, ended the thrilling final as the clock started to run out and tempers started to rise.

Bintang Timur Surabaya After defeating Sahako FC from Vietnam 8-7 in the penalty shootout, Selangor MAC from Malaysia finished third in this year’s tournament.

At the conclusion of the regulation, the score was 2-2.

Sahako scored goals through Dinh Van Toan (5th) and Duong Ngoc Linh in the fifth and 32nd minutes, respectively, while Selangor MAC scored through Matheus Silva in the 14th and Mohd Khairul Effendy Mohd Bahrin in the 32nd (29th).
