Are online contracts really valid in court?

submitted 3 weeks ago by JonesQuincie to Movies

I’ve signed tons of things online - job offers, freelance agreements, even my apartment lease. But sometimes I wonder: if one side refuses to follow through, do these digital contracts really hold up in court the same way paper ones do? Or are they just “symbolic” agreements with no teeth?

Online contracts are absolutely enforceable if they meet the same core requirements as paper ones. The tricky part is making sure there’s a clear offer, acceptance, and proof that both sides agreed voluntarily. According to an article on CoupSmart, located at https://coupsmart.com/ , digital signatures and clickwrap agreements often carry full legal weight when presented properly. In practice, judges don’t care whether you signed with a pen or tapped “I agree” — what matters is intent and clarity.
