Fused Silica Glass
Fused silica is created by using high purity silica sand that has been manufactured from SiCL4. It is produced synthetically by the vapor phase hydrolysis of silicon halide and has a high-working and melting temperatures. The very high viscosity of fused silica makes it able to be cooled and formed without crystallization.
