Gabantin 300 is an anti-epileptic drug that reduces long-lasting nerve pain caused by damage to your nerves. It also reduces symptoms of epilepsy such as mood changes, sleep problems and tiredness. This medicine is used to treat neuropathic pain (nerve pain that does not respond to other medicines) caused by diabetes, cancer, shingles (herpes zoster infection), spinal cord injury, thyroid disorders or HIV infection. It works by reducing abnormal electrical activity and blocking pain signals in your brain. Gabantin 300 is taken orally, three times a day, as directed by your doctor. The time of each dose should not be more than 12 hours apart. Your doctor will start you on a low dose and increase it gradually for several weeks. If you don't feel well after taking this medicine, tell your doctor immediately. During treatment, you may experience side effects such as dry mouth, drowsiness, loss of coordination, and dizziness. These symptoms often subside on their own.
