What is Erectile Dysfunction?

Erectile dysfunction is described as the inability to achieve or sustain a sufficient penile erection for satisfactory sexual performance.

Erectile dysfunction was formerly thought to be caused by psychological issues. Physical issues, mainly related to the blood flow of the penis, are now known to cause erectile dysfunction in the majority of males.

Many advancements have been made in erectile dysfunction diagnosis and treatment. Some Medicine like (Cenforce Fm 100 mg ). The most common sex problem that men report to their doctor is erectile dysfunction or ED.

It affects up to 30 million males. ED is characterized as difficulty obtaining or maintaining a firm enough erection for intercourse.

Though it is not uncommon for a guy to experience erection problems from time to time, ED that is progressing or occurs on a regular basis with sex is not normal and should be treated.

How Do Erections Work?

Nerves emit substances that boost blood flow into the penis during sexual stimulation. Blood rushes into the penis's two erection chambers, which are formed of spongy muscular tissue (the corpus cavernosum). The chambers of the corpus cavernosum are not hollow.

The spongy tissues relax and trap blood during an erection. The blood pressure in the chambers causes the penis to contract, resulting in an erection.

When a man has an orgasm, a second set of nerve signals reaches the penis, causing the muscle tissues in the penis to contract, blood to be released back into the man's circulation, and the erection to collapse.

Though it is not uncommon for a man to have occasional erection problems, ED that progresses or occurs on a regular basis with sex is not normal and should be treated.

Organic ED is the most prevalent cause of ED, especially in older men, and involves abnormalities in the penile arteries, veins, or both.

When there is an arterial problem, it is usually caused by arteriosclerosis, or artery hardening, though trauma to the arteries may also be the reason.

Controllable risk factors for arteriosclerosis, such as obesity, lack of exercise, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and cigarette smoking, can cause erectile dysfunction before affecting the heart.

What is the treatment for ED?

Your doctor will decide the best treatment for erectile dysfunction depending on the following factors:

Your age, overall health, and medical history are all important considerations.

The disease's scope

Your ability to tolerate specific drugs, surgeries, or therapies

Expectations regarding the disease's progression

Your point of view or preference

Medical treatments:

Sildenafil. A prescription medicine that is given orally to treat ED. This prescription works best when taken on an empty stomach, and many men experience an erection 30 to 60 minutes after taking it.

For sildenafil citrate to be effective, sexual excitement is required. Vardenafil. This medication has a similar chemical structure to sildenafil citrate and acts in the same way.

Tadalafil. According to studies, tadalafil citrate stays in the body longer than other drugs in its class. Most men who take this drug experience an erection 4 to 5 hours after taking the tablet (due to sluggish absorption), and the medication's effects can persist for up to 24 to 36 hours.

Penile implants

Penile Prosthesis Inflatable (3-piece hydraulic pump). A pump and two cylinders are put within the penis' erection chambers to produce an erection by releasing a saline solution; the solution can also be removed to deflate the penis.

Penile Prosthesis that is semi-rigid. Two semi-rigid yet flexible rods are implanted within the penis's erection chambers, allowing manipulation into an erect or non-erect state.

Infection is the most common cause of penile implant failure, accounting for fewer than 2% of all cases. Implants are normally not considered until all other treatment options have been exhausted, but they have a very high patient satisfaction rate and are a good therapeutic option for the right patient.
