It is a drug that wakes people up and is used to treat sleep disorders like narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea, and shift work sleep disorder. Even though they have similar chemical effects, the two drugs are not exactly the same. The original form of the drug, Modalert, has crazy mixes of R- and S-modafinil, which are the two enantiomers of modafinil. But Waklert only has armodafinil in it, which is the R-enantiomer of modafinil. According to research, Armodafinil keeps you awake longer and improves your brain function because it works for a longer time than the racemic mixture in Modalert.
