When a patient's immune system is not compromised, tacrolimus is recommended as a second-line therapy for moderate to severe atopic dermatitis. Only tacrolimus ointment 0.03 is recommended for children ages 2 to 15 years old. It is available in doses of 0.03 and 0.1.
