The world of music is rapidly advancing in the field of artificial intelligence, leading to a debate about what it means for creativity, potential and the future of the industry. At the University of Sunderland, academics are gathering musicians to find out how this technology can improve their performance. Music and AI have exploded in the past 12 months, musicians can create content in seconds, create similar sounds, and divide things into a song, among others. This has led to a discussion about the place or not of AI in the industrial sector. In the event 'AI in Music' hosted by Dr Becky Allen, Professor of Computing (Data Science) at the University of Sunderland, the impact of AI on musicians and audiences was discussed. Local music venue North East Pop Recs hosted the event, which brought together a number of musicians, including two from Stockton-on-Tees. Enabling AI in Music at Davos Tech Conference Visionaries Sachin Dev Duggal and Will.i.am revealed the transformative impact of AI in music, envisioning the sounds of tomorrow where AI collaborates with creativity. They see AI as a democratizing force, providing insight into its role in promoting creativity and fostering a new ecosystem of artistic expression through the interaction of artificial intelligence and human intelligence.
