Connect Bone Conduction Bluetooth Wireless Headphones to an iPhone

This information can apply to any kind of Wireless Bluetooth Headphones. Have your headphones and your Apple iPhone close together.

First – Make sure that your Headphones have Bluetooth and are Wireless:

Make sure your Bone Conduction Bluetooth Wireless Headphones and your iPhone have a Full Electrical Charge

As with any Bluetooth Wireless Device, the manufacturers of Bone Conduction Bluetooth Wireless Headphones always recommend you start with a full electrical charge for your rechargeable headphones. Most of these headphones have the following:

Standby Time: Approximately 10 days Talking time: About 6 hours Playing time: About 6 hours

Put on and turn on your headphones:

Visually find the on and off button. After you put on your Bone Conduction Bluetooth Wireless Headphones and adjust the Bone Conduction ear hook and pads to comfortably sit on or above your cheekbones. You will hear your new Bone Conduction Wireless Bluetooth Headset for the first time. Press the on button and the headphones will say “Powering On” they then say “Ready to Pair”.

Next – Find the “Settings” icon on your iPhone:

Find the “Settings” icon on your iPhone which is normally on the home screen. Touch the Settings icon and it will open to the next screen.

Next – Find the Bluetooth button on the top of your screen:

You will see the word “Bluetooth” near the top of the screen. This is the Bluetooth Button. Touch the “Bluetooth Button” with your fingertip and that will open the Bluetooth screen.

Next – Turn on Bluetooth:

When the Bluetooth screen opens look to see that the Bluetooth icon says off; slide the switch over to the right to turn the Bluetooth function on if it is not already on. If it is on already then leave it.

Next – To get the next screen:

Once you slide the button to the right you will get the next screen as your Bluetooth is now on. You may see multiple devices listed below your Bluetooth Switch or nothing at all. All of the information below your Bluetooth Switch applies to Bluetooth devices of one kind or another. You may see the name of your vehicle and also some unfamiliar names. Bluetooth device manufacturers usually but not always put some form of the name of their device in the title for the Bluetooth device.

Next – Getting ready for your iPhone to search:

Once the Bluetooth button is swiped to the right and on you are now ready for your iPhone to search for and turn on your Bluetooth Headphone Connection.

Your iPhone should be able to locate the device once this is enabled and should show the device name on the screen. When it does that, you will need to press on the device name button in order for the devices to sync. Sometimes but not usually you may need to enter a four-digit password, which is provided with your Bluetooth wireless device.

The picture below again shows the on/off button which for this set of Headphones is also how you pair them with your iPhone. When you press the on-off button each time, a voice comes on the headphones and says “Ready to Pair” then says “Paired”.

Next – Identify your Wireless Headphones on your iPhone:

On your iPhone, you will now see at the bottom of the screen a small asterisk type symbol spinning under “Other Devices” as it is looking for its next Bluetooth device to connect to. The names of these devices do not always make sense but for this particular pair of Wireless Bluetooth Headphones it is “Z8”.

Press your devices or the “Z8” selection in this case and you will hear in your headphones the word “Paired. As you can see from the selection there are many other Bluetooth devices on this screen. Some you will recognize and some you will not. Just keep track of what is below the “Other Devices” line to see what is new and trying to join and pair to your iPhone.

Next – iPhone recognizes your Headphones:

Once your iPhone recognizes your Bone Conduction Headphones (Z8) and pairs with them the indicator name will rise above the “Other Devices” and line up to the “My Devices” area and say “Connected”.

Next – Your Bone Conduction Bluetooth Wireless Headphones should now be working properly:

Your headphones should now be working properly. If you have a microphone on your headset and would like to test them you can make a phone call or if not just pick an audio program icon like www.Audible.com or Music in iTunes or another audio program.

As an example, press on the Audible App icon like below and open to an Audible Book selection. Play your AudioBook and enjoy the experience and knowledge that they are now working and on.

Next – After you turn the headphones off:

As you familiarize yourself with your new pair of Bone Conduction Wireless Bluetooth Headphones you will see that after they are turned off that your iPhone Bluetooth screen will show “Not Connected”. When you want to use them another time you will also see that your screen will yet again show “Not Connected”. That just means the iPhone Bluetooth connection is in standby mode until you use it with this device. When you press the on/off button on your headphones once more they will work as before.

Finally – After continued use, you will not have to open the Bluetooth screen anymore.

The Bone Conduction Bluetooth Wireless Headphones and your iPhone have their own connection and once you press the on/off button on the headset they will automatically pair and connect each time by themselves.

This is how I listen to my Audible books, Podcasts, Articles, Music, Talk on the Phone, Dictate a Letter, or whatever each morning when I do my exercise walk to the ocean and is one of my greatest joys. I am multitasking in a beautiful and simple way and now have the free time to read and listen to a book as I am exercising at the same time. I am by myself with the peace of the forest and the ocean and I am learning something new. What more can you ask for?

Troubleshooting your Bone Conduction Bluetooth Wireless Headphones connection:

With all electronic devices, there are sometimes simple issues you will have to troubleshoot, figure out, or just adjust. The following is some of the things we have had to do to get our connection for the first time or back in working order.

If you cannot hear sound through your Bone Conduction Bluetooth Wireless Headphones do the following:

Make sure that they are close together then turn your iPhone and Bone Conduction Bluetooth Wireless Headphones both off then back on. Then check to see if they are paired with the same process as above. Sometimes when I am exercising or doing another activity while I am listening to something on my iPhone the signal can fade. if I start to get more than 15 to 30 feet away depending on the headset you can start to lose signal and your sound may start to get distorted or crackle. Just get closer to your iPhone again with your headphones. Occasionally you cannot get your headphones to pair no matter what you do and they just won’t work. If your iPhone is already working properly with some other Bluetooth Devices then you may have a bad pair of earphones. If you do not have a history of your iPhone working properly with other Bluetooth Devices it could be your iPhone. Either way, you may have to return either device to get repaired or replaced.

Freedom that Bone Conduction Bluetooth Wireless Headphones give me.

I absolutely love the freedom that Bone Conduction Bluetooth Wireless Headphones give me. Not only do I not have anything in my ears to block the sound of animals, traffic, or other human beings which I also love.

Not having wires to get tangled or having to connect to the phone is so wonderful and amazing to me. Once you utilize this technology it is very difficult to go back to wired headphones.
